ChronoCalc Demo — Calculate, Copy Y;M;D, Paste to Score Sheet
This interactive demo walks through the ChronoCalc workflow: enter date of birth and testing date, calculate chronological age, copy the Y;M;D result, and paste it into a score sheet field. Sample dates are prefilled. All math runs locally — nothing is sent to a server.
Privacy: This demo runs entirely in your browser. Dates you enter are never uploaded to ChronoCalc servers. See our privacy policy.

What This Demo Shows
This walkthrough mirrors the workflow clinicians use during evaluations:
- Enter date of birth and the testing date (not today's date).
- Calculate exact chronological age using the borrowing method.
- Copy the Y;M;D line formatted for score sheets (CELF-5, WIAT-4, GFTA-3).
- Paste directly into the chronological age field on the publisher score sheet.
For the full calculator with clinical rounding, cumulative months, and print export, use the chronological age calculator. For report language templates, see the IEP documentation guide.
What the four steps are practicing
The sample dates are already filled so you can click through without typing a real birthday. Step one is those dates. Step two runs the borrowing method and shows years, months, and days plus a semicolon line such as 8;07;20. Step three copies that line. Step four is a fake score-sheet field on this page, not a publisher form. Paste, or type, a string that contains a semicolon. The green confirmation only means the field saw a semicolon. It does not mean a test was scored.
Use your own dates when you leave the demo. The same math, without the walkthrough chrome, is the chronological age calculator. If the manual wants nearest-month rounding, switch to clinical mode there or open the test age calculator. Exact age for a BRIGANCE-style screen stays in standard mode. The methodology page states which mode drops the days.
What can go wrong in the copy step
Browsers only write to the clipboard after a click, which is why the copy button exists. If the click is blocked, the page shows the Y;M;D string so you can select it. A semicolon age and a hyphenated age are not the same token. Many speech forms want semicolons and two-digit months and days. Years are not zero-padded. If you paste 8;7;20 onto a form that expects 8;07;20, the characters differ even though the age is the same. The calculator’s copy button uses the padded form.
The demo date pair is not a clinical case. Do not put a client’s date of birth into a shared screenshot of this walkthrough. The calculation still runs locally, as the green note at the top says, and the privacy policy explains what that does and does not cover once ads are on the page. Ads do not receive the dates in the form.
When you are done with the walkthrough, print the cheat sheet if you want the three borrow steps on paper. For prematurity, leave this demo and use the corrected age calculator. Corrected age is not a Y;M;D copy with a different label.
