Test Age Calculator
This test age calculator figures out chronological age and formats it the way your assessment manual wants it. Pick your publisher — WISC-V, BRIGANCE, Pearson, Super Duper — and get results with the right rounding rules already applied. No more flipping through manuals to remember whether days round up or down.

Why Getting Test Age Right Actually Matters
Here is the deal — test age calculation is not just paperwork. It's what determines which norm group a child gets compared against. Mess this up by even a few days and the kid lands in the wrong comparison bucket. Same raw score, wrong age = wrong percentile, which can change the entire interpretation.
Each Publisher Wants It Different
This is exactly why we built separate modes. Each publisher has their own rounding quirks, and our calculator handles them:
- Pearson (WISC-V, WAIS-IV, KTEA): Rounds to nearest month — hit the day threshold and the month rounds up. Otherwise it rounds down.
- BRIGANCE: No rounding at all. Exact age in years, months, days — that is what the protocol calls for.
- WISC standalone: Uses Wechsler's own conventions, which are close to Pearson but not identical.
- Super Duper: Rounds down, always. Days get dropped, never rounded up.
Best Practices From People Who Actually Do This
Always double-check against the manual for the edition you're using. Publishers do change rounding rules between editions — what worked for the WISC-IV does not necessarily carry over to the WISC-V.
Write down the birth date, testing date, and calculated age in your report. When someone asks how you got that score, you want to be able to show your work. Trust us on this one.
